This is a rather delayed update.
As you may know, Erica (
tiagawolf) moved to Seattle recently. I joined her for a bit of her journey, from Rochester, NY to Minnesota.
Though all pictures are not yet in, More pictures from my travels with Erica are to come.
In the meantime, I will tell you of my adventures in Nags Head, North Carolina.

On July 5th, I revisited the beautiful Letchworth State Park.

After that, I ventured, with friends, to a camp where Karla used to be a counselor.
At this camp I met some pretty amazing people, and saw some pretty amazing things, like this oak tree:

I am not quite certain if this world has Ents or not, but I'm sure if it did, that tree would be one, and would it ever have a tale to tell!
But, having my human friends with me, they were in too much of a hurry to linger around and find out the nature of that Oak.
And here is Ruthie, one of my new friends:

Don't worry, she didn't really follow through.
Another new friend, Elsie, taught me about riflery. Unfortunately, this sport does not accommodate hobbits of my stature.

On July 6th, we ended the weekend with another barbecue.
This is where I parted ways with Karla, to head out on an entirely new adventure with Erica:

Here I am with Monty:

As you can see, he was dressed slightly more patriotic than I. This was not by his doings, but the doings of his human.
This is right before I entered a textbook shindig.

And the fireworks. Not quite like what we had back in the (Shire) day, but impressive... for humans. And being that it was a private, backyard, (illegal?) show.

We were having a hard time getting a clear shot with the 'sparkler' toy - something you light on fire, and it flames in your hand...

THEN, it started doing this:

... and I lost interest in having a photo taken with me and the sparkler, now shooting fireballs at me.
Happy Day of Independence, America.

This past Friday, I went to work with Karla.

This is how the day starts for Karla. She urged me to partake. Possibly wise, considering the last time I went to work with Karla, I ended up being used as a spoon to get water out of Boston's Frog Pond to the mouth of a 19-month-old.
( This is only the beginning. )

In May, Karla, Dan, and I traveled to Washington DC to visit family and friends, and view the cherry blossoms on the Mall.
It was very beautiful, and amazingly different than any London garden. Very American.

In January, I returned to London.
